Kevin Playing and Singing

Kevin Chamberlain was playing at the Doherty for Cinco de Mayo on Wednesday night and since Paul hadn't seen him in 10 years or so, we decided to go to town. He was a 6th grade student of Paul's in the late 1970s, and has recorded gospel records in Nashville, and has a great band. Also a former tribal chief in Mt. P.

As soon as we walked in he pointed at Paul and said "Mr. Koenig's in the house . Do you still have your 64 GTO?" Then we saw Joann and Al Roy sitting with friends. We sat down with them. And then met Mary and Jim Hovey, from Rosebush, who were sitting at the next table. Of course we knew their daughter and grand kids. And they love Texas too! We know all the same places.

After they left two girls sat at the next table, but had to leave as it was promised to another couple. So we asked them to sit with us. They were so fun. Deonna Lynch and Gloria Jensenius. Reminded us of Steff, sassy and funny.

Note to self, having a Bloody Maria, as opposed to a Bloody Mary, is a serious blunder. No matter that it is Cinco de Mayo, tomato juice and tequila do not mix well.
